Belle itinérance de 90 km au cœur du Parc Naturel Régional des Grands Causses.

La randonnée débute depuis la gare de Tournemire-Roquefort (sur la ligne de l’Aubrac Clermont-Ferrand → Béziers). Possibilité, également, de récupérer le GR71C via la liaison du GR71D depuis Millau jusqu’à La Cavalerie.

C’est au cœur du Parc Naturel Régional des Grands Causses que se déroule cette boucle de 90 kilomètres, sur le plateau du Larzac. J’ai adoré réaliser cette itinérance, assez facile mais avec tout de même un dénivelé intéressant. Les paysages, que l’on peut penser assez monotones, sont en fait très diversifiés sur le Larzac. Entre un plateau dénudé et terre d’élevage et des vallées plus encaissées et boisées. Au milieu, ce sont plusieurs villages templiers et hospitaliers qui vous replongent dans l’histoire. Le patrimoine et la pierre donnent au paysage une magnifique profondeur : tours, châteaux, lavognes… Une itinérance sur un grand week-end, parfaite pour découvrir le sud Massif central !

  • MES CONSEILS

L’itinéraire est relativement bien fourni en terme d’hébergements (La Cavalerie, La Couvertoirade, Sainte-Eulalie de Cernon). Vous pouvez également réaliser cette boucle en bivouac, il y a de chouettes coins pour planter la tente.

Prenez le temps de découvrir les villages hospitaliers et templiers et leur histoire. Quitte à allonger d’une journée le parcours pour être plus à l’aise pour les visites. La Couvertoirade est un superbe village, Sainte-Eulalie de Cernon ou le Viala-du-Pas de Jaux aussi !
